A big thank you to everyone who came along to Wednesday’s meeting. It was great to hear everyone’s positive comments about the development of the school, as well as generating information about ways to constantly improve opportunities and provision for the pupils of Grasmere.
We will be sending home shortly a summary of points raised in the meeting.
Pauline Kinch has become a new Parent Governor for at Grasmere School. We welcome Pauline and look forward to her playing an active role in supporting the school.
As Pauline was the only person to express an interest in becoming a Parent Governor she has been appointed uncontested.
Thank you to all of you who were able to come to Monday morning’s meeting. It was great to see such a good turn out, and all your positive comments have been much appreciated by the school staff and governors.
I will be writing shortly to parents to inform you of details about my speech laying out my plans for the school in the future and giving the school community feedback about comments raised by people at the meeting.
Meetings such as this are your opportunity to let us know how you feel about the school and how you would like the direction of the school to be focussed in the future.
A parents and children questionnaire will be issued shortly to enable the whole school community to put their views forward.
We will be holding our Governors Annual Report to Parents meeting on Monday 17th November at 9.00 am – 10.30am in the School Hall.
At the meeting you will have the opportunity to hear Henry Stewart (Chair of Governors) give a summary of the school year, myself give a presentation about ‘Where Next for Grasmere?’ and have the opportunity to ask questions.
Additional copies of the Annual Report can be obtained from the school office.
Thank you to all of you who voted in our recent Parent Governor Elections. I am pleased to announce that our two new Parent Governors are Sharon Sullivan and Henry Stewart. Congratulations to both Sharon and Henry, who I look forward to working with closely in the future. Many thanks also go to Pauline Kinch who also stood in the election.
We have three candidates wishing to stand for two available positions as Parent Governor on the School’s Governing Body.
Parents and carers are allowed one vote per family. Voting papers have been sent home with the eldest child in each family.
Please ensure that voting papers are returned no later than Monday 7th September by 12.00pm. Details of the three candidates and voting papers have been sent home with the eldest child in each family.
So far there has been a great interest in parents interested in standing for election for our two Parent Governor posts. Note of interest need to be made to Ian or myself no later than Wednesday 17th September. Elections will take place within the next fortnight.Print-Friendly Version
